The film takes place on Bird Island, an isolated paradise populated by flightless birds who are mostly happy and naive. The protagonist, (Jason Sudeikis), is an outcast with anger management issues. After a court-mandated anger management class with Matilda (Maya Rudolph), Red befriends fellow outcasts Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride).

Red the bird lived on Bird Island with his fellow flightless friends.He had a very bad temper and lived in a house alone.The other birds were happy, calm, and very peaceful.One day, a boat full of green pigs arrived.Leonard, the king pig, said they wanted to be friends.Red did not trust them and watched them closely.The pigs threw a giant party to distract the birds.While everyone danced, the pigs stole all the eggs.They sailed away to Piggy Island to have a feast.The birds were heartbroken and looked to Red for help.Red told them it was finally time to get angry.They built a giant boat and sailed to the pigs' castle.The birds used a giant slingshot to launch themselves.Chuck used his super speed to break the walls.Bomb used his literal "explosive" personality to destroy towers.Red sneaked into the castle to find the stolen eggs.He fought King Leonard in a room full of dynamite.Red saved the eggs just as the castle blew up.The birds returned home as heroes with their babies.Red even got a new house right in the village.
