Born on June 30, 1988, in Mexico City, Mexico, Daniela Ruah moved to the United States with her family at a young age. She grew up in Miami, Florida, and later attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she studied theater. Ruah began her acting career in 2010, landing small roles in television shows and films. Her breakthrough role came in 2011, when she was cast as Naomi Thomas in the ABC family drama "Switched at Birth".
