The book is the result of a creative collaboration between Saimon and Laika that began in 2022. Captivated by her charisma after being introduced by a mutual friend, Saimon spent several months traveling with her across Japan and abroad to capture a wide range of moods and settings. The final 18 photos are sparse. We see empty rooms where the model used to be. An ashtray. A torn stocking on a radiator. The final photo (#78) is the most haunting: a single window facing a grey sky, with the words "Do not open" written in Japanese marker on the glass.
