The series centers on the eponymous , a middle-aged, voluptuous, and authoritative matriarch of a wealthy Tamil Brahmin family. Unlike typical glamorous heroines of adult media, Velamma is portrayed as a "real" woman — with stretch marks, a heavy build, and an insatiable appetite.
