Modern culture often equates beauty with youth. Media landscapes are saturated with images of flawless, young skin and athletic physiques. Consequently, the aging body—especially the female aging body—is frequently rendered invisible or treated as a taboo subject. When society systematically hides elderly bodies, it creates a narrow definition of what is considered beautiful or worthy of artistic appreciation. Documenting women in their 80s through nude photography directly challenges this erasure. It forces the viewer to confront a natural stage of human life that is often hidden away.
