Released in December 2017, VMware vCenter Converter Standalone 6.2 introduced critical support for vSphere 6.5 Update 1, along with enhanced compatibility for Windows Server 2016 and Ubuntu 16.04. The release added functionality for thin provisioning as a default disk type and enhanced migration flexibility for Linux systems, while resolving various VSS and installation issues in subsequent updates.
