Colin Farrell provides a solid foil as the pragmatic, corporate lawyer George Pierce. Farrell plays the character with a subdued restraint, never tipping into "villain" territory but effectively representing the grey area where most of the modern world lives. Carmen Ejogo is also memorable as a civil rights activist who becomes intrigued by Roman, though the script gives her very little to do outside of reacting to Roman’s eccentricities.
