Unlike many visual directors, Noah Buschel is a writer first. His screenplays read like beat poetry or Raymond Carver short stories. He is obsessed with the rhythm of speech—the way a nervous person stutters, the way a liar over-explains, the way a tired person answers a question with another question.

Born in 1962 in New York City, Buschel grew up with a passion for film and storytelling. He began his career in the 1980s, working as a production assistant on various film and television projects. However, it wasn't until the 1990s that he started to make a name for himself as a filmmaker, with a string of low-budget, avant-garde shorts and features that showcased his unique vision and style. noah buschel
