: Go to C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\V-Ray for SketchUp\extension\vrayappsdk\bin (Path varies slightly for 3ds Max or Maya). Look for mtllib.exe . Run via Command Prompt : Open CMD as Administrator. Drag mtllib.exe into the window. Add this command: -directory="D:\YourCustomPath" Press Enter . Automatic Download : The utility will pull all assets from Chaos servers. It saves them to your specified folder. Set the Path in V-Ray : Open your V-Ray Asset Editor . Go to Settings > Paths .
If the library was not fully installed during setup, you can trigger a manual download using the utility provided in your V-Ray installation folder: Path for 3ds Max: C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3ds Max NNNN\bin vray 6 material library download offline
In V-Ray 6, the traditional Material Library has been replaced by the Chaos Cosmos Browser Drag mtllib
The offline library is a snapshot in time. Chaos releases new materials monthly. To update your offline library: It saves them to your specified folder
: If the V-Ray Asset Browser is empty, restart your host application (3ds Max, SketchUp, etc.) after setting the path to force a library refresh.
